What is the Events Technology Industry?

The Event Technology industry is full of high-pay job opportunities in the region including installation professional, live sound audio engineer, lighting designer, projectionist, digital content creator, and project manager.

What is the program?

Outside of 4-year degree college programs at CMU and Point Park, Pittsburgh lacks a facility that can train new technicians in this field at a vocational level. Working alongside seasoned professionals, students of this program will be learning industry skills to assist with such events as

  • The Deutschtown Music Festival

  • Millvale Music Festival

  • Andy Warhol Museum 25h Anniversary Gallery

  • Ford Motors Live Broadcast from Heinz Field

  • Collegiate events at all of the regions colleges

  • Conventions with ESWP, The Pittsburgh Japanese Cultural Society, Tekko, Anthrocon, Yumacon, CCO Jubilee, and more.

This program will serve as a primer for teens and young adults looking to work in the event technology industry. Each day will include a basics in lighting, live sound, event design, marketing, by taking a hands on behind the scenes look at an event production facility. The program will break down into theory, technical, and administrative sessions.

Monday - Friday 10:00am - 3:00pm (3pm-5pm Open Studio)

Application deadline is Friday July 12th

10:00am - Intro/Review (Event Basics)
10:30am - Session 1 (Event Production)
11:30am - Session 2 (Live Sound)
12:30pm - Lunch
1:00pm - Session 3 (Lighting)
2:00pm - Session 4 (Studio Basics)
2:30pm - Review (Q&A)
3:00pm - Open Studio
5:00pm - Dismissal

No Experience Necessary

This program is a pilot program that will serve as the first stage of ongoing Entertainment Technology Training at 25 Carrick.

WHO CAN APPLY?
Enrollment is open to all teens ages 15 - 21. Limited spaces available and priority will be given to Carrick Residents. Application deadline is Friday July 31st.

Orientation will be held Tuesday July 30th from 6pm - 7pm. Orientation is open to parents, students, and anyone interested in programming.
